Positive Singles Enjoy Dating and Other Benefits Offered by Meet Positives.com - Press Release - Digital Journal

Meetpositives.com, an online dating platform for positive singles, is happy to announce that positive singles have been having fun with the platform, using it to meet other positive singles and develop friendships, date, and get the chance to find romance and meet that special someone. Members also get to enjoy the benefits of the community forum and a private member's only chatroom. Positive singles who previously shied away from dating because of their sad experiences in the past can now date without the fear of that potentially embarrassing moment when they have to inform the other person that they have been diagnosed to be positive for a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

Becoming a member of the Meet Positives community is also easy. Those who want to register will just need to provide some info regarding themselves that will be used by the platform's matching algorithm to find other members who can be potential dates. Each member will need to have a profile that other members can browse when they want to find a potential date on the database. Meanwhile, members are advised to be careful when creating this profile because it will serve as a representation of their appearance and personality. It is true that first impressions are long lasting and could be crucial in finding that special someone. The photographs should be real and not altered in any way. The personal data provided should also be genuine.

Jack Lombardi, CEO of Meet Positives, says, "Meet Positives (MP) was built for STD positive people and as an alternative dating system and a second chance for positive people who live with a sexually transmitted disease. Our goal is to help impacted people feel normal again in a relationship. MP helps positive singles avoid the embarrassment and possible rejection by telling a potential mate about their condition. Our members join because they want to find and date others who have experienced the same struggles."

Those who become a part of MP can also get some advice from other members who have had a lot of experience about being positive but still are active when it comes to dating. Members can read about such experiences from individual posts and from the discussions on the online forums. The information would be about STD dating and also about a certain STD, such as its different symptoms. And most important is how other positive singles were still able to live a normal life.

The matching algorithm used by Meet Positives, meanwhile, is able to accurately match people with the same condition(s), their locations, and their personal preferences and other data. Registered MP members may also search the profiles of positive singles contained in the database. And most of all, they can enjoy being part of the community where they can share their stories, listen to other people's stories, and get to know more about their particular condition from other members and in the discussion forums.

Users of the Meet Positives platform might not want to use an app, which other people might be able to see. The MP website has been designed to ensure that it will display and function properly on any device, whether it is a desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. However, for those who prefer to use a mobile app, this is also available and offers all of the features that are available on the site, including swipe right, safe connect, and local connect.

Meet Positives offers several online resources that can be helpful for positive singles. These include information on STD symptoms, a support center, online safety tips, a blog, a Wiki page, and an at home STD test. Also available on the website is a page where members can tell their own experiences.

Those who would like to know more about the benefits of becoming a member of the Meet Positives community and experience online dating may want to visit the Meet Positives website, or contact them on the phone or through email.

No. 8 Duke Wins 54th Straight Home Contest in 6-1 Win Over Notre Dame - Duke University - GoDuke.com

Posted: 29 Mar 2021 12:04 PM PDT

DURHAM – The eight-ranked Duke women's tennis team returned home to Ambler Tennis Stadium Monday morning and collected a 6-1 victory over Notre Dame in ACC action.

With the victory, the Blue Devils improve to 11-4, 6-3 in the ACC, while Notre Dame dropped to 9-11, 3-9. Duke also collected its 54th consecutive home victory, which continues to lead all Power Five Conference teams.

"It was not easy with our schedule and coming out on a Monday morning at 10 a.m., is highly unusual for us," said head coach Jamie Ashworth. "I thought we did a good job getting back late Saturday night and then kind of a quick turnaround with an early practice yesterday.  We came out here ready to play.  We are still manufacturing doubles lineups here, but I thought we did well with what we put on the court today."

On court three, the Blue Devil tandem of Kelly Chen and Ema Lazic got off to a hot start against Yashna Yellayi and Julia Andreach and never looked back, posting a 6-0 victory.  Chen closed it off in impressive fashion with an ace to get off the court quickly.  Chen and Lazic improved to 2-0 on the season together.

"I was great," said Lazic.  "I loved competing and playing next to my teammates.  The support is awesome.  I just love playing.  I just tried to be really energetic, positive, play my game and support my teammates as much as possible.  I know they would support me as well. It was just great to be out there competing and fighting with them all."

Duke was able to clinch the crucial doubles point on court two as Georgia Drummy and Karolina Berankova teamed together for only the second time this season to collect a 6-3 win over 11th-ranked Ally Bojczuk and Julia Lilien.  Drummy and Berankova jumped out to a 1-0 lead and then led 5-2, before closing the match out.

When the doubles point was clinched, Duke's fifth-ranked duo of Meible Chi and Margaryta Bilokin were tied, 4-4, on court one against 12th-ranked Cameron Corse and Page Freeman (ND).

Dating back to last season, the Blue Devils have won 17 out of the last 19 doubles points in dual matches.

Duke got off to a hot start in singles play winning the first set in all six matches.

Berankova, a native of Prague, Czech Republic, stepped on court four for the second straight match and faced Lilien.  The Blue Devil sophomore took a 2-1 lead, but fell behind 3-4 midway through the first set.  Berankova finished strong winning three straight games to take the first set, 6-4.  She didn't lose another game, claiming the second set, 6-0, on her way to notching her third ACC win of the season and put the Blue Devils ahead, 2-0.

Seeing dual match action for just the second time in her career, Lazic turned in a stellar display of tennis on court six for the Blue Devils.  The London, United Kingdom, product took the first set, 6-0, against Maeve Koscielski.  After falling behind, 0-2, in the second set, Lazic won six out of the next eight games to win her first career ACC dual match with a 6-3 second set victory.

"That was a great thing for her," said Ashworth regarding Lazic posting her first ACC win.  "She has honestly put in the time and effort.  It is not an easy position she has been in for four years, not knowing whether she would play or not.  When it was her opportunity at Virginia this week, she did a great job and didn't get to finish her match.  She came out today and kind of kept that going.  She provided a real emotional lift for us today to.  She was very real vocal on the court.  Hats off to her and congrats to her for that effort."

Bilokin, who is from New Canaan, Conn., clinched the Duke win on court three with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Bojcuk.  The Duke junior dropped the first game in both sets, but never trailed the rest of the way in her match.  Bilokin improved to 12-6 on the season and 4-4 in ACC action.

For the third straight match, Chi went up against a ranked opponent as she faced 74th-ranked Freeman on court No. 2.  Chi looked great at the start, taking the first set, 6-1.  She opened the second set winning the first game, but would go on to drop the second set, 3-6.  Chi, who hails from Weston, Fla., finished strong with a 6-3 third set victory to get the win.

With the ACC victory, Chi now owns 39 ACC singles wins over her five-year career, which ranks second all-time on Duke's record charts.  She is only two victories away from matching the Duke record of 41 held by Ellyse Hamlin.  Dating back to the 2018-19 campaign, Chi has won 15 out of her last 17 ACC dual match singles contests.  Chi's win was also her 38th win of her career against a ranked opponent.

Chen registered a three-set victory over Corse, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8) on court one for the Blue Devils.  Corse jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first set, but Chen battled back to take her first lead, 6-5, and eventually won the first set, 7-5.  Corse came back in the second to win, 6-2, but Chen held strong in the third set tiebreaker winning 10-8.

Zhao was in a tight battle on court six versus Andreach, as she fell behind, 1-4, in the first set, before storming back to take the first, 7-6 (7-5).  Andreach came back in the second to win, 6-0, forcing the match to a tiebreaker. Zhao, from San Diego, Calif., went ahead, 5-2, but Andreach came back to win seven straight points to lead, 9-5.  Zhao responded by cutting the lead to 9-7, but eventually fell 10-7.

Duke's 20th-ranked Chloe Beck missed her second straight match with an injury, while Drummy saw action in doubles after missing the last two matches with an injury.

The Blue Devils will remain at home this week as Duke will next host NC State Thursday, April 1 at 4 p.m., at Ambler Tennis Stadium.

Matt Barnes cleared for Red Sox return after non-infectious COVID-19 positive - The Providence Journal

Posted: 29 Mar 2021 01:26 PM PDT

Matt Barnes will be with the Red Sox on Opening Day after all.

Boston confirmed on Monday afternoon that Barnes received a non-infectious positive test result for COVID-19. The potential Red Sox closer has been in quarantine at his Florida home since Saturday morning, and eight members of the organization have been subject to contact tracing.

Boston manager Alex Cora broke the news of the Barnes positive early Saturday, but the right-hander has been asymptomatic throughout the following 72 hours. No other member of the Red Sox organization tested positive in the subsequent three days.

"I'm just happy he's going to be back with us," Cora said following Monday's 4-0 shutout of Atlanta. "It seems like we're going to be at full strength in a few days."

Barnes last worked Thursday against the Twins and pitched in a simulated game the following afternoon. Friday was the last time he was allowed to enter the JetBlue Park facility, as Cora received early word on Saturday about the positive test. GPS devices worn by all Boston personnel quickly determined eight members of the organization had been in close contact with Barnes.

"Hopefully, it's the last time we have to go through this, but spring training is to prepare you for whatever happens during the season," Cora said. "We're prepared, but hopefully we won't have to deal with it anymore."

Four members of the Red Sox organization were deemed close contacts with Barnes, which would have subjected them to upwards of seven days in quarantine. Four others were deemed extra scrutiny contacts, which would require isolating and individual workouts. Boston was following protocols agreed upon by Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association — their joint medical committee ultimately cleared Barnes for his return.

"We did a good job the last two days staying calm," Cora said. "Now that we know what's going on and where we're at we'll plan for the weekend. The good thing is we've got options and we're in a good place."

Red Sox players and personnel were subject to rapid tests and PCR tests prior to boarding the bus for their Saturday game against the Pirates in Bradenton. Boston leaned on the guidance of Dr. Laurence Ronan, the club's medical director, and protocols that have been in place since Summer Camp in July. Barnes and those in contact tracing would have been forced to travel separately from Florida to their regular-season homes in the Boston area after Tuesday's spring finale.

"The guys did a good job staying the course and doing their work," Cora said. "There were no distractions, and then we got good news.

"It's a testament to the organization just being patient. Larry [Ronan] did an amazing job educating players and talking to everybody."

Barnes and fellow right-hander Adam Ottavino were perceived to be vying for the ninth-inning role in the Red Sox bullpen. Matt Andriese was scratched from his Saturday start against Pittsburgh after he was found to be in close contact with Barnes. Garrett Richards and Garrett Whitlock have also been conspicuous by their absence over the last week — Richards worked most recently last Tuesday while Whitlock hasn't appeared in a Grapefruit League game since March 19.

"I think that Friday off day is going to benefit us," Cora said. "The other off day (April 9) is going to benefit us. We'll just take advantage of that and make decisions based on who can perform this weekend and go from there."

Tanner Houck allowed just two singles and a lone walk in his 4 1/3 innings on Monday. Martin Perez is scheduled to start on Tuesday and Nathan Eovaldi remains in line to take the ball on Opening Day against the Orioles. Cora has declined to name a starter beyond Thursday — some combination of Richards, Houck and Andriese could all be considered for Saturday's second game of the season.

"We've still got time," Cora said. "I think it will be good for everybody to know where we're at tomorrow morning. I think we're going to meet as a group and make decisions."

The Red Sox' Kike Hernandez, left, is congratulated by third-base coach Will Venable after hitting a home run in the third inning of Monday's spring-training game against the Atlanta Braves in North Port, Fla.
